The preschool environment builds on the independence and curiosity that is fostered in our toddler room to help support your child on their journey for being ready for school.
The preschool room is set out to offer children independence and choice and offers a range of activities and resources that help support the different areas of learning and development.
The dedicated preschool staff support children’s communication skills . The routine within preschool is designed to support independence and children doing things for themselves. Our preschoolers demonstrate confidence and resilience.

We work hard to build strong parent partnerships and ensure smooth transitions whether your child is moving up from our toddler room or starting with us from home.
We promote creativity and inspire imagination and role-play with open-ended resources and choice.
We introduce more structured group times and circle times which support listening & communication skills. In addition to that, adult lead activities help in developing their knowledge and further learning.
We work with local state and private schools in Maidenhead to make the transition to ‘Big School’ smooth for our preschoolers. We introduce “Getting Ready for School Program” in the summer term, to consolidate all the skills the children have learnt during their time at Monkey Puzzle Maidenhead and ensure they are school ready.
