Every child is unique, but one thing they all have in common is that they are always learning. We build positive partnerships with parents and carers to ensure your child learns and thrives at nursery.

We believe that by building positive relationships between our team and parents and carers we are able to provide the very best learning and care experiences for all children. Bringing your child to nursery for the first time is one of the bravest things a parent can do so it is important that you build a relationship of trust in our team, sharing ideas and knowledge about your child throughout their time with us. We look to support parents to understand how to promote learning at home, bridging the gap between a child’s learning and development at nursery and at home. Most of all we want parents to feel confident to be their child’s best teacher, and we want children to experience a wealth of experiences at nursery, in a safe and secure environment which allows them to learn, grow and thrive.

To see more about what your child can learn at our nursery, visit our Vision Page We, therefore, ensure that the EYFS is accessible and understandable to parents, and during the settling-in period, the following documents are shared with them:

Your Child’s Key Person

Each child has their own key person to enable them to feel reassured, safe and cared for within our setting. This person is your first point of contact at nursery and will work closely with your child, supporting them to settle into nursery life. The key person carries out weekly “Observations” on Famly to track your child’s learning and development.  We also encourage parents to send us Home Observations via Famly which enables us to ensure the most stimulating activities and effective learning goals are in place for your child.

We like to encourage you as parents to talk to your key person whenever you can, often this means during pick up and drop off times, but also during parent’s evenings (end of each term) and nursery social events. If you have time for a chat, our practitioners and your child’s key person will always be happy to talk about your child’s progress anytime. A child’s life is filled with opportunities for learning and development, with your help, we can grasp as many of those opportunities as possible.

Famly: Online Parent Portal

We use an online portal called Famly which will be a parent’s go to place for all the information they need about a child’s time at nursery. You can also see all the wonderful activities and observations taken on your child and their class. There will be regular posts that show off pictures and videos of the amazing learning experiences the children enjoy each day.

In addition to this, you can use the messenger feature to contact our team, or the newsfeed to keep up to date with nursery news and parent notifications.

Weekly Highlights

We all know how hard it is to keep on top of everything when you have a child in your life, so to help parent’s stay in the loop, we release weekly highlights on Famly.

Weekly highlights are a summary of your child’s week at the nursery including the activities & themes we have been focussing on. We hope you all enjoy reading about all the fun we have and use the opportunity to ask your child about their time with us!
