Monkey Puzzle Maidenhead offers a dedicated all-weather outdoor area.  This beautiful area consists of a separate space for the babies and another for the children aged 2-5 years.

Children of all ages use the garden on a daily basis all year round.  We have covered areas to protect from wet weather but we value the importance of outdoor play in all seasons.

Our play space has been designed to support child-led outdoor learning that supports the Early Years Foundation Stage and encourages children to express themselves, work in teams, take safe risks, make decisions and choices as autonomous learners.

Our outdoor play equipment promotes open ended play in the garden, encouraging children to explore and learn.

We have an excellent selection of moveable items to bring physical play to the garden, which build confidence in both gross motor skills and climbing, and fine motor skills with creative outdoor learning.

Allotment

Gardening from a young age teaches children about the environment. It helps them to respect and appreciate nature. Taking care of plants and growing food helps build children’s confidence.

Monkey Puzzle Maidenhead offers a special gardening area where we grow our own vegetables, plants and herbs. The children help the practitioners look after the plants, digging, raking, watering and then harvesting the crop. We don’t just study the plants but the bugs and insects that live there as well.

Children enjoy eating the vegetables and salad they have grown and we use the herbs in our kitchen. Our children follow a sensory path in the allotment area which helps in developing their gross motor skills.
