Pizza from Scratch: Cookery Club at Our Maidenhead Nursery
At Monkey Puzzle Maidenhead, our Cookery Club gives children the chance to dive into delicious, hands-on learning as part of our extra-curricular activities. Recently, our young chefs took on a true kitchen classic: making pizzas entirely from scratch.
From Dough to Delicious
The children were fully involved at every stage. They kneaded the dough, spread on the tomato purée, chose their favourite toppings and finished everything off with a sprinkle of seasoning. Seeing a pizza come together from a few simple ingredients, made by their own hands, was a proud moment for every young chef.
Why Cooking Matters for Your Child
Cooking is much more than a fun activity, it’s a vital life skill. Kneading, spreading and sprinkling all help children develop their fine motor skills, while handling real food teaches them about fresh ingredients and where their meals come from. Most of all, it builds confidence in the kitchen, and that sense of “I made this” carries over into everything else they do.
