At Monkey Puzzle, our preschool curriculum follows the EYFS framework, building on toddlers’ independence to prepare children for school. Through play, circle time, messy play, nature-based learning, and adult-led activities, children develop confidence, creativity, communication, and self-regulation. Enriched with extracurricular activities, visits, and events, our program ensures children are happy, curious, and school-ready.

We believe healthy eating is essential for a child’s growth and development. Our preschoolers enjoy nutritious meals from Nursery Kitchen, using high-quality ingredients and a variety of flavours from around the world. Meals include a balanced two-course lunch and tea, breakfast options, and healthy snacks, with fresh water available at all times. By introducing children to diverse and delicious foods, we encourage them to explore new tastes, develop a love for healthy eating, and build the foundations for lifelong good habits.

Preschool children are supported to become independent and confident in their wellbeing. We encourage them and want them to be able to spot where their peers may need support and help too. Our nursery provides an environment that supports their independence fully, with toilets and handwashing available to them at all times.

Preschool children also follow the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’. We support them and prepare them for their eventual move from day nursery to school. This is a more settled routine, with children working in small groups. The children have open access to the garden every day (free flow) from their room and complete a lot of their daily activities outside through choice. The garden also reflect the areas of learning and allows problem solving on a grander scale.
